Scheduling a Tax Appointment

This article covers how to book a tax appointment at a Liberty Tax office. I walk the caller through the six-step online scheduling process at libertytax.com, or direct them to call their preferred office directly if online scheduling is not available.

When a caller wants to schedule a tax appointment, I walk them through booking online at libertytax.com. Appointments are scheduled directly through the Liberty Tax website using the Office Locator tool.

If the caller is unable to complete the online scheduling process, I advise them to call their preferred Liberty Tax office directly. Office phone numbers are available through the Office Locator at libertytax.com.

How to Schedule an Appointment Online

1
Visit libertytax.com Open a web browser and navigate to libertytax.com.
2
Open the Office Locator Scroll to the middle of the homepage and click Office Locator. Enter your ZIP code to see nearby Liberty Tax offices. Returning clients should select the office where they previously filed. New clients should choose the most convenient location.
3
Select Your Office and Click Make Appointment Click on the preferred office location, then select Make Appointment to begin booking.
4
Choose a Date and Time Use the calendar to select a preferred appointment date. Available time slots are displayed. Select the time that works best.
5
Enter Your Contact Information Complete the form with your name, email address, phone number, how you heard about Liberty Tax, any special instructions, and a preferred preparer if applicable. Check the reminder box to receive a confirmation.
6
Confirm and Finish Review the appointment details, agree to the terms, and click Finish to complete the booking.

What to Bring to the Appointment

When a caller asks what they need to bring, I provide the following standard checklist:

  • Photo ID for yourself and your spouse if filing jointly (driver's license or government-issued ID)
  • Social Security cards for yourself, your spouse, and all dependents
  • W-2 forms from all employers for the tax year
  • 1099 forms for any additional income โ€” interest, dividends, retirement distributions, Social Security income, freelance or contract work
  • Prior-year tax return if available (especially helpful for new clients or if switching preparers)
  • Records of childcare expenses and the name, address, and Tax ID of the childcare provider
  • Records of self-employment income and business expenses if applicable
  • Bank account and routing number if requesting direct deposit of refund
  • Any IRS notices or correspondence received during the year
Note: This is the standard checklist. The caller's specific preparer or office may request additional items. If the caller has questions about specific documents, I advise them to call their Liberty Tax office directly using the phone number in the Office Locator at libertytax.com.
Note: Appointment availability is managed directly by each individual franchise office. If a caller cannot find an available time slot, I advise them to contact their preferred office directly using the phone number listed in the Office Locator at libertytax.com.
How This Call Is Resolved The caller is guided through the six-step online booking process at libertytax.com. If they cannot schedule online, they are directed to call their preferred Liberty Tax office directly.
