Accessing the Client Portal

This article covers how to help a caller access their tax documents through the Liberty Tax Client Portal at clientportal.libertytax.net. I walk them through logging in, linking their account if needed, and viewing or downloading their return.

The Liberty Tax Client Portal allows clients to securely access their tax documents and account information online. The portal is available at clientportal.libertytax.net.

Important system distinction: The Liberty Tax Client Portal (clientportal.libertytax.net) is for returns prepared by a Liberty Tax preparer — either in-person at an office or virtually with a remote preparer. It is NOT the Liberty Online self-file platform. If the caller filed their own return online, they need the DIY Support Team. See Article 5 for DIY (Liberty Online) assistance.

When a caller needs help with the portal, I walk them through the steps below. If they experience technical difficulties logging in or linking their account, I ask them to confirm they are using the correct email address. If issues persist, I direct them to contact the DIY Support Team at Support@Efile.LibertyTax.com.

How to Access the Client Portal

Go to the Portal Open a web browser and navigate to clientportal.libertytax.net. Log in with existing credentials, or create a new account by following the on-screen instructions.

Link Your Account (If Not Already Linked) If the account is not yet linked, click Settings, then select Link Account. The caller will need to verify their Social Security Number and Date of Birth to complete the link. If already linked, skip this step.

Navigate to Tax Documents Once logged in, click Taxes in the navigation menu. Select the tax year to view, then locate the return in the document list.

View or Download the Return Click the eye icon to view the return on screen. Click the download icon to save a copy to the device.
How This Call Is Resolved The caller is guided through the portal steps at clientportal.libertytax.net. If they experience login or linking issues, I ask them to confirm their email address. For unresolved technical issues, I direct them to Support@Efile.LibertyTax.com.
